Anyone have a syllabus?   One issue is clear, President Obama is frustrated and true to form and without forethought Ploofe, and Obamas speechwriters penned a very lackluster State Of The Union Speech.  I will give Ploofe credit, you could hardly see the puppet strings last night.

In the Presidents first SOTU speech a grand missed opportunity became evident once Obama turned rabid, rather than bend to the will of the people, the Obama demagoguery was the tact taken.  Oh there were small apologies but none specific,  what was specific is Obama see’s his actions as true and correct, some might say, pathological.

First he attacked the Supreme Court sitting not 30 feet from the lectern, so inflamed was Obama that he is creating an “executive order” in an effort to circumvent the courts decision.  Second, and thoughtfully so, Obama began to castigate his own party, literally calling them out as cowards, IE; “run for the hills” comes to mind.  Not to be left out, Obamas ire and sarcasm was unleashed on the Republican party of whom for all intent and purpose he called “obstructionist”, and created problems HE faces when he walked in the door?

Then came the sing song Southern Preacher in an effort to rise the level of emotion, the bland stories about little Jimmy in Two Egg Florida who can’t get health care.  The obligatory, “our country has faced tough times before” angle, then when the crowd was his, (in his mind) Obama promised to fight for us the American public. Suggestion, how about listening to the American public first!

The great orator has lost touch, in fact, the great orator has lost his audience of Independents, moderate Democrats, and last but not least, the impressionable youth.  Times are tough when you loose the trust of the people, and in reality President Obama has no one to blame but himself.  Rather than doing the right thing, Obama has choose to ignore the voice of the people, and with the ample assistance of Rham Emanual Chief Of Pit Bull’s they have severely overplayed their hand by leveraging the economic crisis to implement their BIG GOVERNMENT pie in the sky plan for recovery.

Not once did Obama apologize or direct blame for the current economic crisis on his own party who has been in control of the purse strings since 2006, or the runaway budget deficits created by HIS stimulus plan, he also failed to mention that the current housing crisis started with Bill Clinton and John Podesta, and was ushered past any semblance of pragmatic governance by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Rham Emanual, and a litany of other Democrats attempting to protect their disenfranchised voting base.

No President Obama went into full campaign mode last night, and expect much more of the same now that Plouffe is back in the fray.  This is where this administration finds its center, attack everyone and everything, then state you have a better way, but offer nothing but worn out shallow promises of change, when what our country really needs is a clearly defined platform with bipartisan support.

Our nation is being held hostage by Obama’s narcissistic rage, which is the root cause of the Presidents passive-aggressive attacks directed at anyone who questions his intellect.  Our country deserves more, and I will say our country demands more of our elected leadership, to offer any less, is a betrayal to the citizens of this great nation.  Time to lead, follow or get out of the way Mr. President, ego be dammed.

It was reported by Johna Goldberg this morning that Newsweek  Magazine has enlisted the services of President Obama to write a piece on the current tragedy in Haiti. Although a noble cause, and truth be told Obama will have one of his staffers write the piece, this request is further evidence of the blurring of the lines between the press and the political process.

Also of note is the fact that in the past Newsweek has had a rather aggressive tilt in their coverage of Obama and his administration. The question that comes to mind is; why not just issue a press release which is normal SOP in cases similar to Haiti’s tragedy. Considering this point, the next viable question is what is the motive or payoff for the exclusive scoop to Newsweek?

Payoff:  Newsweek is one of Obama’s top supporters,  they have kowtowed and idolized Obama from the beginning, the bill is now being called due now that  Newsweeks redesign and change of  focus is coming out of the gate.  They need a home run to pull this off, what better way than to plaster Obama’s face on their newly redesigned rag.

Motivation:  All kidding aside, Obama loves Obama, no mirror is safe, I can see the Prez in 20 years (living in exile) paging through all the covers he garnered while in office, the man is a narcissist plain and simple.

Not to dilute the crisis in Haiti, but this is not the best use of office to be pandering to the media, I don’t think the subscription rate in Haiti will increase due to this article, and by now becoming Author In Chief it further degrades the office of President.

Now if I can only find that recipe  piece by Lincoln, or was that FDR, no Trueman, I am making the President some humble pie!

Now that Obamas first year is behind us, and hopefully his benign payback to the lefts hopey changie agenda a specific focus on what the real problems are and how the political community is to blame for our economic woe’s.  In a report that was released in the heat of the health care battle this summer, the committee on oversight and government reform deftly pinpointed the smoking gun to the current economic crisis and the players involved.

Not surprisingly numerous high level Democratic and Republican names  litter the pages of the 28 page tome on how Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac’s involvement with the help of the well placed politicians and lobbyist’s practically guaranteed the bursting of the housing bubble.  The conclusions and sub text further cement the fact that neither government or politicians are capable of managing any enterprise without getting their pound of flesh.

Also within the pages of the report the names Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton, Peter Orzog, Countrywide, Larry Summers, Rham Emanuel, and lastly Chuck Shumer.  Ironically for the exception of a few names these individuals have been tasked with “cleaning up the mess from the past”.  In pure political form the ones who created the mess are now the brave souls who will right the ship with the newly proffered Financial Reform bill now in the house.

The report, which can be read here, spins a tale of, cooked books, favoritism, outright tortuous interference, and copious amounts of cronyism all happening in full site of the regulators tasked to prevent such fraud.  The report shows that the proper regulatory oversight was in place but was cajoled, manipulated, and threatened to turn a blind eye to the political infighting.  This fact is highly relevant in that with the proposed “Financial Reform” legislation now being discussed by the very same offenders of the past policy is nothing more than a political game of propaganda to detract from the real causes of the failure of Fannie and Freddie Mac.

If you read the 28 page report (you should)  you gain an understanding on how the machine works, also evident is the prevailing attitude that the politicians cared little about expanding home ownership, but were more interested in placating and expanding their voting bases.  The pandering, back room deals, and favoritism shown in the Fannie and Freddie downfall  add to the continued mountain of evidence that government should not be involved in the management of any free enterprise, and without the threat of failure, accountability or fiscal restraint it came down to not if the GSE’s would fail but on who’s watch.

As we usher in a new decade “fundamental change” in fact must take place, but where that change must be fostered is on the shoulders of the people, the followers must become the leaders no longer accepting the hollow promises of our politicians rote.  The genius of the American system of freedom is we “currently” have choice, we just have to become better at remembering that key fact and put it to work, or we all will be learning Mandarin in due haste.

Capitalism: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market.

The continued bailout frenzy by the Obama administration went on quietly after the markets closed last Thursday when the Treasury lifted the $200 billion dollar cap on allocated funds to Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae, in doing so congress gave the two agencies carte blanche in an effort to fix the failing giants.  Obama’s economic handlers are nothing if not consistent in that they believe throwing  money at failing free market lines of business is the only way to avoid a total economic melt down.  The latest move to shore up the GSE’s is being spun as an effort to kick start the housing market by freeing up liquidity. Once again Obamas attachment to Keynesian economic methodology is his modus operandi in fixing any problem.  But like all other attempts at moving markets by increasing the money supply, the bill eventually comes due and with substantial compounded interest, further increasing our national debt.

Both Fannie and Freddys failure in September 2008 were prior to Obama being elected and can be tied to the overall housing bubble bursting under the Bush administration, but it is important to note the only action to correct the problem by both Geithner and Obama has been to increase the ceiling from the original CBO estimate of 25 Billion in 9/2008  to 200 billion prior to last Thursday, and as of now the latest increase of no limit.

Two issues are blatantly obvious, first, the Obama team had no plan to stop the bleeding at the government “sponsored” (not owned or run) housing agencies, and second by not addressing the housing market early on and in a decisive manner,  the mole hill is now a mountain.

The current situation is so bad at Fannie and Freddy,  the newly (Obama) appointed CEO’s structured their golden contracts to be paid in cash, IE; not stock since neither Michael Williams nor Charles Haldeman have any confidence that the stock will have any value. But don’t fret, both CEO’s were given annual pay raises to 6 million each for their deft management of the failing housing giants. It is also being reported that the remaining managing executives are being paid a paltry 2 million each, hey it’s just paper right?

It is clear that the housing market was dismissed by the current administration for “greener” pastures, like health care, the stimulus plan, cap and trade, and for kicks a couple of car companies. It is also clear that nobody in the administration quite knows what to do with Fannie or Freddy, which if ignored further run off of equity and mounting foreclosures are sure to follow.

A possible reason for not addressing the GSE issue, is it does not serve, unions, the disenfranchised, or the far left political agenda that has a deep seated hate for “greedy Wall Street bankers” of which Tim Geithner was cut from the same cloth oddly enough.   Even though there is a large remaining balance in the boondoggle stimulus bill, the debt for keeping housing alive will be passed to the taxpayer.  Our bill as of today is 60.9 billion for Fannie Mae, and 50.7 billion for Freddy Mac, does anyone have change for a trillion?

The fundamental issue with Obama’s current policy is that it rewards the weak and punishes the strong, or in other words, bail out companies that are deemed to big to fail regardless if they failed on their own accord, and bail them out by using the tax base, the exact opposite of free market capitalism.

America was built on the pillars of trade and free enterprise, our country has excelled in this environment to where we as a nation are one of  last remaining superpowers. This is not by chance it is due to the innovation and freedom allowed to its citizens, if government continues to step in and bailout failing business by sticking its hand in the pockets of small business and entrepreneurs, our economy will be dictated by the massive debt we owe making our share all that smaller.  Not exactly the vision I had for our youth.

Politico is reporting that the  Democrat-Republican duo of  Senator Chris Dodd and Sen Richard Shelby have been working diligently behind the scenes in an effort to produce a workable “bipartisan” financial reform bill.  The bills talking points are listed below.

• “We seek to end ‘Too Big to Fail.’”

• “We need to protect American taxpayers from future bailouts by enhancing our resolution regime.”

• “We agree that consumer protections need to be strengthened.”

• “We believe that our regulatory structure needs to be modernized and streamlined while preserving the dual-banking system.”

• “We agree that the Federal Reserve should be more focused on its core responsibility — conducting monetary policy.”

• “And finally, we need to modernize regulation and oversight of the derivatives market.”

Dodd’s first attempt was focused on the development of a single agency which was backed by the Obama administration which would have had oversight over the new agency. Republican deference of further consolidation of power under the presidents control was attacked quickly and efficiently by key Republican members, so much so that Dodd requested top members break into two member bi-partisan teams in an effort to find consensus.

Both Dodd and Shelby went on to state, “These talks have been extremely productive.” Many had feared that with Dodd and Frank involved the process would mirror the dissension of the health care debate, so far cooperation and bi-partisanship have been the rule.

Not unlike health care, many industry insiders and economists are of the opinion that the banking system has sufficient “watch dog” agencies, and the problems of the current crisis was due to political interference, and K street lobbyist. Several attempts as early as 2004 were proffered to the Senate Banking Committee addressing most if not all of the problems that caused the bursting of the housing bubble, which were blocked by both Dodd and Frank who were deep in the pockets of the banking industry, and their K street schwag merchants.

Regardless if the new financial reform is just window dressing to distract attention from the real cause of the housing crisis, it is refreshing to see that both parties appear to working in concert to ostensibly improve oversight. The final bill will be the answer to the new found bi-partisan love fest, but given the blood letting over health care the bills effectiveness is highly doubtful.

Looks Simple Doesn’t It

ObamaCare has managed to pass the first and second hurdles to a final vote, palms have been greased, promises have been made, souls have been sold, time now for the donnybrook, and the final product. Remembering back to the dog days of summer, when the grassroots Tea Party movement was so prevalent never would I have guessed I would still be writing about health care. Certainly more important issues would be on the table by December, we still have rampant runaway deficits, unemployment closing on depression like numbers, and two wars.

The current path of the Democratic party appears to be of the strategy to pass some sort of health care bill before the end of the year. The rush is, first Obama promised, second if ObamaCare drags out too long it will severely damage the Democratic party in the 2010 elections. Most think the Democratic losses in 2010 are a shoe in, but nothing could be further from the truth if the Republican party cannot consolidate the factions within the right side of politics.

Republicans should look at what worked for Obama and steal a page from his campaign, demonize; blame all the worlds ill’s on your opponent, fantasize; if you follow me, note the me, the world will be a better place “I” am here to take care of you, but switch it to, freedom over expansion of  “The Government State”.

Currently the middle to far right has fractioned into individual platforms, the Big Tent is a bunch of Tpees at the moment, and still no clear unifier is standing out.  This is dangerous in that the idea of individual country states of consistent morals and political beliefs could step out of the union.  Not as far fetched or radical as one might think, the preponderance of the monies being spent or will be spent for all this Hopey Changing is going to the core citys or population centers.  Little of this money will find its way into most red states, so why should Omaha have to pay for Chicago’s health care?  A uniter is needed, or at least a good organizer to pull the right of center together.

I am afraid the Republican party doesn’t want to get it’s hands dirty and would rather sit and watch the show from the balcony, therein lies the problem of the entire political process, protect the position. By being focused on maintaining or exploiting power, the battle is fought mostly on defense, with rare opportune moments of attack, or fight for survival. When survival is the highest motive it is consuming, you don’t risk injury when trying to survive, it becomes hard to legislate from a cave.

Back on point, with the asperous relationship of the majority, 60 is hard to come by, the Democrats and Obama have dumped all if not most of their political capital on passing this bill, and to this date we still don’t know what the final bill will be.

But the Obama administration pulled off a minor success in buying the last 3-4 votes, they voted unanimously as a party, this is now their legacy. Time will tell as to the success or damage of this coup, all indications are this bill will be like numerous other government programs, bleeding money, highly inefficient, and unaccountable, just like the politicians who run them.

One year after the election our country sits on the precipice of collapse politically, economically, and morally and we sit in this position due mostly to the policies of the current administration.  Regardless of the propaganda coming out of the White House about the reasons for our troubles, our worsening  situation is clearly attached to President Obama and his leadership to date.

Rather than detract or extol the decisions of the Obama team, it is of higher importance to recognize how by continuing to proceed as we are could result in a national implosion on the grandest scale.

The obvious divisions between the two primary parties has been written on to great length, what is being ignored is the segmentation by the people of the United States into sub-segments within those two parties and how the leadership void within these segments is fueling the fire to further division.  Anthropologically this move is borne out of dissatisfaction with the status quo, which was artfully used by the Obama handlers to push their agenda of “Change You Can Believe In”, the key and dismissed aspect of this move was and still is what this change entailed.

For all intent and purpose and actionable legislation put forth to date, the “change” is not something the large majority of the populace DOES believe in, and by bulldozing ahead with the party’s nebulous shadow policies geared at consolidation of wealth and power for personal and political gain has created  a national animus that is fermenting to unstable levels, and suggestive actions.

We are a nation being run by a minority (platform)  acting in the pursuit of a majority consensus with no clear delineation of public policy,  evading all the while the wishes of  plurality!  Or simply put, we have an administration which THRIVES on conflict and uses that conflict to push its agenda of which is only known to them, and is implemented over the wishes of the people that elected them to serve.

By the Obama team pursuing this tact, a void of dissenting opinion and differing agendas is sprouting on a national level.  This “grassroots”  ideology is consistent in that is is inconsistent, case in point; the rise of the rogue.  If one were to look at the actual definition of the word “rogue” they just might not select it as title of a book?  Forgoing the definition, and looking at which it professes to support, going rogue has been marketed as doing things against the norm, or a return to founding conservative principals, all well and good, but where does that leave the “conservative” who was in place prior to the new definition being promoted as a NEW platform?

The antithesis, or far left point of view is diametrically opposed to the “rogue platform” and just as stridently pushes it’s agenda, “big government is good”.  In between  these two political forces a cadre of special interests and fragmentation’s of thought reside, which further  impedes any national consensus or action, the big tent’s are missing their anchors.

In essence our nation is searching for meaning, this is not new and is a byproduct of founding documents on which we govern, but the difference this time is the disconnect is foundational, is government and its control the answer, or the people for which it stands?

The answer to this question will determine the likelihood of Americas world status for future generations, and although the problems we face are not quite so simplistic, the way in which we solve them is.

Do we as citizens of a free republic abdicate to the wishes of our politicians, or are we a nation OF the people, the decision of which faction will lead the majority to this goal is our choice, the freedom of that choice is not questionable, and the key to our survival as a nation depends on it.

Nan, in her ever present cheery Botox induced craze stated “Obama must make his case on Afghanistan”, jeeze thanks Nan.

To further confuse the issue, with the paper still wet from Obama’s signature, the lefts old pal Denny K. is rumored to be developing the following; “Pelosi said she expects Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, to introduce a resolution calling for an immediate withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and Iraq. That will probably be the first vote the House takes on this issue”.

Blind worship be dammed, the rats need a job in 2010 and 2012, and with Obama’s poll numbers free falling to historic levels for the first year President, the exodus for the ropes will be like the doors opening at Fileans after Christmas sale!

Politicians are famous for saying one thing and doing another, but Professor Obama has taken that to new heights. The once promising presidency is now mired in a litany of struggles from both within and outside of his party.

The latest from Harry Reid

“Democrats aren’t going to let the American people down,” Majority Leader Harry Reid said after a closed-door meeting called to discuss last-minute trade-offs in the legislation that President Barack Obama has made a top priority. “I’m confident that by next week, we will be on our way toward final passage.”

Harry please don’t do us any favors!  With 61% of the American population against this bill, and an estimated 10-15% undecided, who is Harry talking to?  Could it be the far left, me thinks so!

Now that we are within days of President Obamas one year anniversary his administration and most democrats are still kicking the can down the road on health care.  The amount of time and focus on a program that is not needed, wanted, nor affordable, and quite possibly the death knell for as many as 30 Democratic seats is astounding!

Nanny P.  AKA Nancy Pelosi came to the aid of her concerned democratic members stating today, she is willing to risk control of the house in 2010 to pass ObamaCare. Easily said by a woman who comes from the most liberal district in the free world, can ya hear the bus coming Blue Dogs!

You have to keep in mind the amount of time, money, and political blood that has gone into passing the holy grail of the left, why it has been rumored that some members are actually working 25-30 hours a week in their efforts to bankrupt the United States, here here!

The Democratic party and President Obama have painted themselves in a nasty dirty corner by spending practically all their political capital on this one bill, and doing so against the majority. It is rumored that the final legislation will have plethora of concessions that will water the bill down to the point of being ineffective, in essence passing health care will be nothing more than saving face for Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, quite a price to pay to satisfy ones ego.

The clock is running, the Democrats are on the goal line, but the crowd has left, what say we punt on the one yard line and try this again in 10-15 years?

LIE “We were forced to take those steps (to jump-start the economy) largely without the help of an opposition party which, unfortunately, after having presided over the decision-making that had led to the crisis, decided to hand it over to others to solve, Obama said, starting his address with a history lesson on the roots of the recession.”

Truth: First the TARP program, which was passed in Congress and the Senate by both Democrats and Republicans, your Fed Chairman Geithner on 2/5/09 had and has control over how to use the funds which is estimated to have a remaining balance of 300 billion.

Truth: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, this one is your baby, a 787 Billion baby know as the stimulus plan. You put your best man in charge, Vice President Biden, who since February has managed to fund mostly pork laden non shovel ready projects, and has only funded an estimated 21% to date, also least we forget about the manufactured districts and the large majority of funds going to Democratic member districts.

Truth: Your administration President Obama, has managed to run up (at last count) a deficit of 1.4 TRILLION by employing Keynesian economic theory, or better put, a way to justify the democratic spending spree.

Truth: You cannot spend our country out of debt, that sir is an oxymoron to the highest degree!

Truth: You are attempting to pass a health care bill against the best wishes of the people you serve. You state that no increase in the deficit will be apparent, so looking at that statement you want to cover an additional 30 million people who currently do not have coverage, and you can do that for free?

Truth: Since your parties greed overwhelmed the first stimulus plan you passed, and given 80% of the money has not been spent, you want to offer up a jobs program which will cost another 200 billion. Like the health care plan you say the money will come from TARP or TALF, but give the American public one good reason they should believe you?

Truth: Cap and Trade will further burden the United States economy which will be tasked with carrying an additional tax which will have to be amortized off by middle America further increasing cost to produce which will be passed on to the good people so fortunate to have jobs.

Truth: With the EPA and the United Nations in your back pocket you plan on signing the Copenhagen accord to stem global warming, regardless of the actual truth and facts about the reality of global warming, and the latest scam uncovered which certainly should be validated prior to signing any treaty that will harm the United States.

Truth: Your team of inept financial advisers are trying to implement or make law Financial Regulation Reform, when in fact two of the most culpable individuals for the housing crisis are from your party, Barney Frank And Chris Dodd. Their continued harassment, influence and attacks on the lenders to loosen up mortgage underwriting guidelines in fact exacerbated the housing situation. Also by not implementing suggested refrains on the GSE’s as proposed by Republican legislators both entities were allowed to run amuck.

Mr. President, we are past your blame game, it is childish to continue to look for scapegoats, leaders don’t need to blame others, they fix problems, they elicit help, and build bridges not burn them. Mr. President you have been in office close to one year, and all your team has done is run our nation into the ground, by spending the American public’s money unwisely, while continuing to blame others for problems you and the Democratic congress have created, which by the way has had the majority since 2006.

Sir, either man up and get the job done, or get the hell out of the way, I believe we can do much better without your continued lies and half truths!
